What is FIMValencia?The Valencia International Music Festival is an educational and cultural project whose objective is the dissemination and promotion of music as a form of expression. The musical work of FIMValencia is reflected in musical improvement courses, instrumental groups, chamber competitions, concerts, workshops, conferences and master classes for all specialties. All these activities are carried out by top-level international professionals. The Valencia International Music Festival was officially established in 2017, and since then it has brought a total of 181 teachers and soloists from 21 different nationalities to Valencia, and since then has obtained a total of 1230 students from 28 countries. around the world. FIMValencia is undoubtedly one of the most complete and relevant music festivals in the entire national territory. In its 8th edition, FIMValencia 2024 will have 45 instrument teachers, 10 complementary activity teachers, 2 accompanying pianists, 2 conductors 10 team members, and will have a capacity of up to 250 registered students.

How did FIMValencia come about?Thanks to the great musical tradition that exists in the Valencian Community, we wanted to invest in musical education to broaden and improve the knowledge and goals of all music students and professional musicians. We have assumed a type of organization with international elite teachers, focused on the improvement of students who are studying music at any level, holding a week of high-performance musical coexistence every year.

Who organizes FIMValencia?The 2024 Valencia International Music Festival is an event organized by the "FIM Valencia Cultural Association" (G40595092) and under the direction of José Luis Cortell Añó, José Miguel Rodrigo Dorce and José Antonio Soria under the name of the brand registered FIMVALENCIA.

When and where is it celebrated?The courses will take place in Valencia, (SPAIN) at the JoaquÃn Rodrigo Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia and will take place from July 16 to 20 (5 days), from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The concerts and recitals with the participation of the students will be held in the same building. FIMValencia 2024 Venue: "JoaquÃn Rodrigo" Superior Conservatory of Music of Valencia C/ de Ricardo Muñoz Suay, s/n, 46013 Valencia, Spain. Other activities such as the Chamber Competition will be held in Manises, in the Vicent Ros Hall, or the didactic concert on July 21 at the Manises Auditorium.

What are FIMValencia's music courses?Music courses are the main focus of the festival. To make it possible, the most outstanding international instrumentalists travel from different cities around the world to Valencia in order to share their knowledge with all those interested in living a unique opportunity that will bring them closer to knowing and receiving classes from the best artists of the moment.

How are the FIMValencia activities structured?All students will have at least one class with each teacher of the chosen specialty (it will not be possible to select a teacher). One of the characteristics that make this course special is that the classes with different teachers give different points of view, which nurtures the student in a more complete way The schedule structure is as follows: ​ 09:00-10:00 Group classes of different specialties ​ 10:00-11:30 Individual classes / Complementary activity ​ 11:30-12:00 BREAK ​ 12:00-14:15 Individual classes / Complementary activity ​ 14:15-15:30 BREAK ​ 15:30-21.00 Individual classes / Complementary activity / Groups ​ (Schedule may vary) At the end of classes: free access to the different concerts and recitals organized by FIMValencia, as well as attending the Chamber Music Contest as an audience. All the information will be provided through PDF quadrants, which will be sent to the students well in advance.

Who is it for?FIMValencia 2024 is aimed at professional musicians and music students in the most advanced courses, with a minimum age of 15 years old and 3rd year of professional education as minimum music studies completed. If a younger student or one with less studies wishes to access FIMValencia 2024, they must contact us before registering and provide us with a recording so that our teachers can evaluate it.

I am underage. Can I enroll in the course?Yes. To participate in FIMValencia 2024, a minimum age of 15 years is required. A signed consent authorization with the guardians' data will be required. A few days before the Festival, the document will be sent, which must be brought filled out and signed on the first day. If a younger or less educated student wishes to access FIMValencia 2024, they must contact us before registering and provide us with a recording so that our teachers can evaluate it.

What is cancellation insurance and why do I need it?Enrollment cancellation insurance: The price of the cancellation insurance is €50. ​ If for any reason the student has to cancel their attendance at FIMValencia 2024, the amount paid for the registration will be refunded in full, less the amount of the cancellation insurance and a transfer fee of €3. ​ The cancellation insurance will be valid until June 30, 2024 included. The cancellation insurance will cease to be valid on July 1, 2024. The amount paid will not be refunded for cancellations made after July 1, 2024. ​ This cancellation insurance affects all the products contracted in the registration, except for the contracting of accommodation.​

What group will I participate with?All active students will take part in one of the groups and will receive classes and rehearsals to prepare for the concert. ​ The FIMValencia management, together with the international teaching staff, will select and distribute the students into the different groups that the festival offers. This distribution will take into account the instrument and the level required to be able to perform the pieces. Students will be informed in advance so they can prepare the repertoire properly. ​ The size and staff of the groups may change according to the level and number of students attending FIMValencia. ​ The closing concert will be on Saturday, July 20, starting at 5:30 p.m.

What happens if I am late for my class?Each student must be responsible for attending their classes punctually, since not attending a class means losing it. We recommend that you arrive at your classroom at least 5 minutes in advance.

Liability insuranceThe organization has contracted civil liability insurance during the days of the festival at the FIMValencia headquarters​. AccommodationThe festival will have shared accommodation available with other festival students. ​​ The date of entry will be Monday, July 15 in the afternoon and departure on Sunday, July 21 in the morning. ​​ The price is €300 for 6 nights (€50 per person and night), without breakfast. ​​ If you are interested in hiring accommodation through us, we recommend that you contact us before registering to ensure availability. What does the registration include?Students will receive daily collective instrument classes, group rehearsals and activity workshops such as Yoga, Pilates or the Alexander Technique. Other informationWe will have a classroom to be able to leave the instruments during the day. ​ All students will receive a festival t-shirt. ​ The FIMValencia 2024 "Junior" teaching staff is different from the FIMValencia 2024 teaching staff and will be made up of qualified professionals with experience in teaching music to the youngest. ​ All classes will be in Spanish or Valencian, depending on the preference of the student. The distribution of the classes will be carried out by the organization of the festival. If a student needs to change a class, they must do so directly with their classmates. ​ If a student is late or does not attend any class, it will not be recoverable in any case. ​ The minimum number of students to take the course of the corresponding specialty is 3 students, if the minimum is not reached, the student's parents will be contacted to refund the full amount or change the modality.

If we need help or information, who do we turn to?FIMValencia will have several members of the Staff who will be identified by the Festival t-shirts. They will always be at the entrance of our headquarters and will help you in everything in their power.

If a medical emergency arises, what do we do?If an accident or medical emergency occurs, you must immediately notify STAFF personnel, who will contact emergencies (if necessary) and in the case of minors, will call the parents or legal guardians of the student to notify them of the incident. The educational center has sanitary material to perform first aid until the arrival of the emergency team.

If we are victims of or observe aggressive or discriminatory conduct, what do we do?If you are a victim of or witness aggressive or discriminatory conduct, you must notify our STAFF immediately. The FIMValencia organization will not tolerate this behavior under any circumstances and the person responsible will be immediately expelled. This person will not be able to continue attending the FIMValencia 2024 activities and in no case will the registration amount be reimbursed. If the student is a minor, the parents or legal guardians will be called to notify them of the incident and communicate the immediate expulsion of the student.
